My Evaluation Services:

My Autism-affirming evaluation process is designed to fit your child’s mode of communication (AAC or nonspeaking), your family’s homeschooling model, and a range of budgets. In accordance with VA law, I will complete an evaluation and provide you with the documentation (proof of progress letter within 5 days of evaluation) for you to submit to your local school district by August 1*. You may choose one of three options currently available: 

1. Parent Questionnaire (Google form)
2. Portfolio Review (digital or physical)
3. Parent Interview and Portfolio Review (Virtual or in-person*)

My Qualifications:

With 30 years of experience teaching students with disabilities in special education classrooms within the 757, I am highly and uniquely qualified to provide proof of progress for your child with disabilities, especially those with level 2 or level 3 autism. I am passionate about the fact that many standardized and state approved tests are biased against nonspeaking children and therefore do not adequately assess their knowledge and growth. • I earned my master's degree in Education in Teaching Reading in 2004 from Old Dominion University. 
• I earned my PhD in Special Education and Disability Policy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2024.
